A Look Back on Central Casting’s 2021
It’s been an eventful year at Central Casting! From completing the launch of our online self-service platform to the release of SmartVoucher, there’s a lot to celebrate as 2021 comes to a close. Here’s a look back on some of this year’s milestones.
Online self-service platform
As a Central Casting Background Actor, one of the best ways to be successful is to keep your online profile updated. Your online profile gives you the ability to update your sizes, appearance, contact info, vehicle details, and photos as they change. Our Casting Directors use this information when booking their shows, so the more thoroughly and accurately you fill out your profile, the more likely you are to show up in searches for roles you fit.
One of the ways to find work through Central Casting is by responding to availability inquiries and other messages from Casting Directors. Messages will be sent to the email address on file and in some cases as a text message with a link to respond. We recommend adding DoNot-Reply@centralcasting.com to your email safe sender list so emails don’t get lost in junk or other folders. You can also find all messages from Central Casting in the inbox of your online profile.

We are very excited about SmartVoucher, Central Casting’s digital voucher platform. SmartVoucher is simple, easy, and saves you time on set. If working on a production using SmartVoucher, you will need to have logged in or claimed your Central Casting profile before accessing your voucher. If you registered after January 1, 2021, click the “log in” button in our website menu, then choose the “create new login” option. If you registered prior to January 1, 2021 and have not yet claimed your profile, click “log in” then “claim profile.”
With SmartVoucher, checking in at your call time is easy and only requires a few quick steps. Throughout the day, a production representative will input your information, like check-in time and meal times. Then once wrapped, you’ll receive an email with a link to your SmartVoucher for approval.

Background Actors now have the option to be paid via direct deposit on productions where Central Casting and Entertainment Partners provide combined casting and payroll services.
Interested in signing up for direct deposit? Log in to myEP, then connect your account to your EP payroll profile if you haven’t already. To do so, select the “update profile” option under “manage account” and choose “connect payroll profile.” Enter your Social Security number and verify your employment by providing net, check, or gross pay information.
Once your payroll profile is linked, go to “My Pay” in the main menu and click the “Direct Deposit Management” tab. For step by step instructions, see our direct deposit setup guide.
If you elect to be paid via direct deposit instead of paper check, you only need to sign up once, then will receive direct deposit payments on all projects with combined Central Casting/Entertainment Partners casting and payroll services, regardless of that production’s direct deposit status in myEP.
