Are you planning on registering to become a Background Actor with Central Casting? We are excited to announce that we’ve rolled out the online registration process in all of our offices. This feature was previously only available in Georgia and Louisiana and is now part of the registration process in Los Angeles and New York.
The online registration process includes three steps: creating a profile, completing the online portion of registration, and coming to our office with your required documentation. Read through this guide for everything you need to know to register as a Background Actor with Central Casting.
Registering with Central Casting just became easier. Our new registration process involves three steps, all of which must be completed before you’re eligible to work on our productions:
Please note: sessions become available from the time an event starts, not at midnight on that day. For example, in Los Angeles reservations open exactly 3 days from when registration starts at 9:10am.
If you don’t see available sessions, keep checking back as new sessions become available every day and spots open due to cancellations. You will not be eligible to be booked until you come to our office and successfully complete registration.
Have questions or need help with the online registration process? You can either email email@example.com or leave a message on our toll-free helpline at 855.500.2055. Please include the office location you’d like to register with and your phone number in your message so we can contact you. We will do our best to respond to questions within 48 hours.
Everyone who registers with Central Casting must fill out an I-9 form and present the required I-9 form documentation. This is a crucial step in the registration process and you will not be able to complete registration if you don’t bring the original unexpired documents to your reserved session. Please be sure to read over the Lists of Acceptable Documents before you come to our office.
Central Casting registers minors from 15 days old to 17 years old to appear in movies, TV shows, and other productions. At this time, the online registration process is only for adults. To register a minor, a parent/legal guardian will need to bring their child and their child’s required documentation to our office to listen to an orientation, fill out their paperwork, and to have their photo taken.

Need to re-register or update your photo or file? The Re-Registration and Update process has not changed and is not a part of online registration. If you need to re-register, update your photo, add additional photos, or make changes to your file, you can do so by coming to your Central Casting office during Re-Registration and Updates times. Some of our offices do require reservations, so be sure to check out the Re-Registration and Updates FAQs on your location’s Talent page before coming to our office.
