FAQs
Before You Arrive
After you’ve accepted an offer for work and are booked, you will receive a unique details message with instructions on how to get your booking details.
The most typical methods are:
- You will receive an email with your specific booking details.
- You will receive an email with a code and instructions on using the Booking Details page of the website, which will contain your specific booking details.
Booking details are usually sent later in the evening before your workday. Confirm receipt of the details message as soon as possible.
Your details will include all of the dates for your current booking. To see your booking history, click the Schedule button in your online profile.
If you are going to be late or need to cancel, please call the number listed in your booking details message. If you no longer have the booking details text message or email, you can find all messages from Central Casting in the inbox of your online profile.
All of your work information is included in your booking details, which are sent via text message and email. If you are unable to access your details from the text message or email, you can always view your messages from the inbox of your online profile.
Your details will contain information on how to get call time changes. Be sure to check before you go to bed and when you wake up for possible updates.
Call times are set by production. While production may change the initial call time, background actors cannot request to change their call time. You should not accept a booking unless you are available for that day without time restrictions.
California, New York, Georgia and Louisiana
Please arrive on set camera ready. Bring a photo I.D. and any additional documentation listed in your booking details.
Your booking details will also list any wardrobe or props requested by production.
If you’re a member of SAG-AFTRA, you’ll also need to bring your membership card. If you recently joined SAG-AFTRA, don't forget to update Central Casting by completing our SAG-AFTRA Updates Form.
All other locations
When you arrive on set to work as a background actor, the production company will require you to complete a federal Form I-9 which is used to collect proof from you that you are authorized to work in the U.S. You must bring documentation from the Lists of Acceptable Documents to present to the production company. Learn more about Form I-9 requirements.
Details on the set location and directions will be in your booking details. You are responsible for your own transportation to the location identified in your booking details. Central Casting is not responsible for your travel costs to commute to work. Do not accept the offer for work if the location is too far for you. If you have already accepted the offer for work and cannot get to the location on time, contact your casting director via the phone number listed in your booking details.
