Getting Paid
When you are booked by Central Casting or production companies using our services, getting paid is simple. In most cases you will be paid by Entertainment Partners, Central Casting’s parent company and the entertainment industry’s leading payroll provider.
How payment works
A background actor’s pay is based on where the production is filming, the guaranteed hour rate, whether the role is SAG-AFTRA or non-union, and a variety of other factors like overtime, supplemental fees, meal allowances and more.
All of your pay information will be included in your voucher, which is your timecard for the day.
There are two types of vouchers: SmartVoucher, EP’s pioneering digital voucher technology, and paper vouchers. EP's experienced paymasters use the information in your voucher to pay you accurately and on time.
SmartVoucher
Using SmartVoucher is easy. SmartVoucher fully integrates with the EP Casting Portal, so all of your information will already be loaded and ready for production once you’re booked.
At your call time, you will receive an email with work date specific tasks you must complete each time you work. You will not have access to your voucher until it is sent for your approval at wrap.
Complete your voucher
E-sign your forms in SmartVoucher or complete your paper voucher.
Work details entered
A production member records your on-set work details.
Review and approve
At wrap, review your voucher carefully and ask any questions while you're still on set.
Payment
Your submitted voucher is reviewed and payroll processed. Payment is by check or direct deposit.
Manage your pay with myEP
MyEP is Entertainment Partners’ simple free portal for background actors to view pay information, set up direct deposit and more.
After signing up with Central Casting, you can access myEP with the same email and password associated with your Central Casting online profile.
Please note that Central Casting and myEP store your information separately. If you update your Central Casting online profile, be sure to also update that information in myEP to ensure there are no delays and you’re paid accurately and on time.
