Reservations for Re-Registration and Updates in Los Angeles

Background Actors lining up outside Central Casting Los Angeles

Need to re-register or update in Los Angeles? Beginning on September 19, 2019, Central Casting Los Angeles will start requiring Re-Registration and Updates reservations to attend a session. Here’s everything you need to know about re-registering, updating, and how to make a reservation.

What is Re-Registration?

All Background Actors registered with Central Casting must re-register every three years to remain eligible to be booked on our productions. If it’s been more than three years since you registered, you will not be able to work for Central Casting until you re-register.

Remember, Re-Registration is only for those who have previously registered in person at Central Casting Los Angeles. If you have completed online registration, but have not completed the in-office portion, you will need to make a reservation for a New Registration Onboarding session.

What are Updates?

During Updates, you can take a new photo, add additional photos, and make changes to your profile. When you register with Central Casting, we take a headshot and a full body photo for our casting system. Since these are the main photos Casting Directors use, we recommend updating your photos every six months or any time your look changes.

You can also come to Updates to add photos of you in different looks. These additional photos help Casting Directors determine the kinds of roles you can portray and they encourage only adding photos of unique and distinct looks. So if you want to add a formal look to your profile, you only need to take one photo in formal dress, not multiple photos in different formal outfits.

Your Central Casting profile contains key details like your sizes, SAG-AFTRA status, cars you own, and other information used in the casting process. You can update all of this information when you come to a Re-Registration and Updates session. If you don’t update your profile when these things change, you may be missing out on roles you’re perfect for. Even small changes, like going up or down a size, can matter to Casting Directors, especially when casting Stand-Ins and doubles.

If you are a member of SAG-AFTRA, don’t forget to bring your current SAG-AFTRA card every time you come to Re-Registration and Updates.

How to make Re-Registration and Updates reservations

Making a reservation for Re-Registration and Updates is easy! Starting on September 19, 2019, you can no longer attend a Re-Registration and Updates session without a reservation. To make a reservation, click on the Re-Registration and Updates link under the Talent menu or select the Re-Registration and Updates session that you wish to attend from the calendar and click the “reserve now” button.

Reservations open exactly three days in advance from when the event begins. For example, Thursday sessions at 10:15am will open on Mondays at 10:15am. Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes early for your reservation.

Re-Registration and Updates are for adults only. If you have a minor that needs to re-register or update, you can make a reservation for a Minors Registration session on our Kids page.
