The fall TV season is right around the corner, which means background casting for many returning and new TV shows is ramping up. Here’s what you need to know about the new network season and how you can be cast by Central Casting.

Make sure you’re registered

Central Casting casts all kinds of roles to work on set, including Background Actors, Stand-Ins, and doubles. To be considered for one of these roles, you must register at one of our offices in Los Angeles, New York, Georgia, or Louisiana. Once you’re registered, you’ll be eligible to be cast in our productions.

The registration process and requirements are different in each location, so be sure to read through the Sign Up page on our website before coming to one of our registration sessions.

Update your photo and file

One of the ways Casting Directors determine if you’re right for a role is by your main photo in our casting platform. It’s important that this photo is always an accurate depiction of what you look like right now. We recommend updating your photo every six months or anytime your look changes.

You should also update your file anytime your sizes change. When casting certain roles, like doubles or when production provides wardrobe, Casting Directors need your current sizes to ensure you fit the role they’re casting.

You can update your photo in your online profile. For more information on managing your Central Casting online profile, visit the Profile Management page.

How to find jobs

Ready to get on set? The best way to find work is through the Jobs page of our website. Casting Directors update the page throughout the day with all the latest roles they’re casting. Keep checking back so you don’t miss out on booking a role you could be perfect for.

You may also receive a message from a Casting Director checking your availability for a future work date. Please answer this text message as soon as you receive it. If you are unable to answer right away, it’s still important to reply to the message as soon as you can. The Casting Directors may still be casting the scene or new spots may have opened up.
